Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto — one of the most beloved romantic piano concertos — features profound melancholic melodies, performed here by soloist Simon Bürki. The evening closes with Rimski-Korsakov’s spectacular Scheherazade, a suite that brings the magic of fairy tales to life through dazzling orchestral colour.
