• Modest Mussorgski — Morgendämmerung an der Moskwa from the opera «Chowanschtschina»
• Sergej Rachmaninow — Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, op. 18
• Nikolai Rimski-Korsakow — Scheherazade, op. 35

Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto — one of the most beloved romantic piano concertos — features profound melancholic melodies, performed here by soloist Simon Bürki. The evening closes with Rimski-Korsakov’s spectacular Scheherazade, a suite that brings the magic of fairy tales to life through dazzling orchestral colour.
